The Microsoft MCSA database certification is intended for professionals looking to validate their skills in and knowledge of implementing Microsoft SQL databases both on premise and in the cloud. There are two sub courses and exams in this certification track;

Prerequisites

• CompTIA IT Fundamentals training or equivalent training (strongly recommended)
• Microsoft Technology Associate – Database administration track.

Topics Covered

There are two exams in this course:

Exam 70-764

This exam will focus on installation, maintenance, and configuration tasks of Microsoft SQL server. It will also cover tasks and concepts on setting up database systems, making sure those systems operate efficiently, and regularly storing, backing up, and securing data from unauthorized access. Concepts covered will include:

• Configure data access and auditing
• Manage backup and restore of databases
• Manage and monitor SQL Server instances
• Manage high availability and disaster recovery

Exam 70-765

This course will focus on various cloud service models and service model architectures, data storage options, and data synchronization techniques. It will also cover knowledge of deployment models, upgrading and migrating databases, and applications and services, in addition to integrating Azure applications with external resources. Topics covered will include:

• Implement SQL in Azure
• Manage databases and instances
• Manage Storage

Duration and Schedule

Duration:         Day time: 6 weeks

                        Evenings: 8 weeks.

                        Weekends: 12 weeks

Schedule:         Day-time Mornings: Mondays to Thursdays, 8am to 12 noon

                        Day-time Afternoons: Mondays to Thursdays, 1pm to 5pm

                        Evenings: Mons /Weds / Fridays, 6pm to 10pm

                        Saturdays: 9am to 5pm.
